About One Plus One
One Plus One strengthens couple
and family relationships by putting research into practice.
One Plus One was founded in 1971by Jack Dominian.
Working in the London borough of Brent – an area of social
deprivation – Dr Dominian realised that relationship discord
and breakdown was at the heart of the distress he encountered daily
with families. He also found clear links between depression (including
post natal depression) and relationship problems and, parental conflict
and children’s behaviour.
Today, we investigate what makes relationships work - or fall apart
- and use the findings to develop training and resources tailored
to the needs of those working with families. We also strive to ensure
that the Government's family policy is shaped by evidence and innovative
practice. |
