Tips to help manage the differences
If you get worked up and can't see a way of sorting something
out, why not agree to disagree? Set aside some time later (and
a time limit) to explore what you can't agree on.
Perhaps borrow from different styles (see our quiz) to make something
that works for you.
Maybe you need to make some changes. Even making small changes
can be surprisingly powerful.
For all couples there will be the same old sticking points that
you never resolve. They are unique to you and your marriage. Learn
to live with them - and have a sense of humour!
Judging, accusing and criticising are out of order and you'll
have to work hard to put things right if rows becomes damaging
or acrimonious.
Sometimes, having a third person present helps - someone you can
both trust (who won't take sides).
